Business Incubation: Innovate to Elevate Sparks Entrepreneurial Mindset Among Students

To strengthen entrepreneurial knowledge and promote financial literacy among students, the College of Business Education hosted an enlightening seminar titled “Business Incubation: Innovate to Elevate – Empowering Student Entrepreneurs” last April 21, 2025, at the Ramon J. Guico Sr. Sports and Civic Center.

The event featured a series of informative talks led by esteemed professionals from the fields of business, technology, and finance. It kicked off with Mr. Elmer B. Quintana, an entrepreneur and academician, who emphasized the power of speaking in business. He discussed how strong communication skills are key to building influence, securing opportunities, and leading effectively.

The second speaker, Mr. Jefferson Costales, an academician and Research Project Head, introduced students to the concept of technopreneurship. He discussed how modern businesses thrive by leveraging technology and innovation, encouraging students to explore tech-based solutions for future ventures.

In the afternoon, Mr. Gomer C. Gomez, Bank Officer II from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas – NLRO REAS, gave an engaging presentation on the BSP’s newly released banknotes and essential financial information. He educated students on currency features, anti-counterfeit measures, and the importance of responsible money handling.

In addition, representatives from the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) were on-site to guide students and faculty on savings and digital banking. They also assisted in setting up online bank accounts, further promoting financial inclusion and practical banking skills.

The seminar provided participants with real-world insights and relevant knowledge that bridge academic learning with practical application. Through expert-led discussions, the event successfully empowered students with foundational tools to navigate the evolving landscape of entrepreneurship and financial responsibility.
